It is without a doubt that climbing is a sport that enables children and young people to optimally fulfill their urge to move. Climbing should also be regarded as particularly good for health as it not only trains all the major muscle groups but also optimally promotes motor skills and agility.

When choosing suitable climbing shoes, however, both children and their parents face a dilemma: to date, they have had to choose between children's climbing shoes and scaled-down adult shoes. The problem: children's shoes are often too stiff or too passive for adolescents to fully develop their potential. On the other hand, performance shoes for adults are extremely aggressive and force the feet into an unnatural position that can sustainably damage adolescents' feet.

To close this gap, here at Red Chili, we have developed the PUZZLE. This is the first performance-oriented climbing shoe to have been specially developed for the ergonomic and anatomical needs of growing feet.

YOUNG CLIMBERS HAVE A NATURAL INSTINCT TO GRAB FOOTHOLDS WITH THEIR TOES ...

The PUZZLE is very soft and flexible, thereby promoting young people's natural stepping behavior of "grabbing" footholds with the feet. This natural "claw effect" is supported by a (1) slightly deeper rand in the toe area. At the same time, a moderate downturn provides sufficient pre-tensioning to pull on even small grips on overhangs.

The (2) heel is narrow and straight so as not to excessively irritate the Achilles' heel. The toe box at the front of the foot offers plenty of room for the toes without overly compressing them.

The upper is made from a single piece of (3) microfiber. This improves comfort by minimizing stitching. The PUZZLE also has a (4) tongue made of recycled knitted fabric. This ensures a "sock-like" fit and a pleasant environment for the feet. The VCR strap and two pull-off loops make the shoes quick and easy to put on and take off.
